Back to Basics

Exercise:

For the past couple of years, I have bounced around between Turbo Fire and Chalean Extreme. While I adore both programs, I was beyond burned out with them and it was to the point I just couldn't bring myself to push play and do the same thing. Again. I tried talking myself into doing a 90 day challenge, but I just couldn't. I remembered I had a stash of Walk Away the Pounds DVD's and while most are pretty easy, they still get the heart pumping and it's exactly what I needed. I'm EXCITED to work out again and my plan is to eventually integrate Turbo Fire and Chalean Extreme back into rotation, but I don't want that to be the ONLY thing I do.

Tonight I did Walk & Firm which was 35 minutes alternating between walking and using a resistance band. Did I burn hundreds and hundreds of calories? Nope, but that's not the only thing that matters anymore. Variety and not forcing myself to work out is 100% worth it. I'm also doing a squat and plank challenge for this month and today was the first day, so it was pretty easy. 20 squats and 20 second plank...talk to me in 2 weeks ;)

Breakfast:

No apple pie oats today :(. Ran out of apples. I decided to change things up a little bit (well from this week, anyway) and have an old standby; egg sandwich. Nothing too fancy, english muffin, egg, sharp cheddar cheese. Delicious orange on the side.

Lunch:

Last night I cooked up some turkey burgers in the same sauce I used for the chicken for lunches for the rest of the week. I had one today and some leftover rice with carrot sticks and another orange. I can't wait to go grocery shopping tomorrow and get some different produce!!

On that note, I'm off to finish my book and go to bed early tonight.

Any fun weekend plans? My "baby" turns 5 tomorrow, so we are taking him to Red Robin for dinner and then a family party Sunday at my mom's house.
